DARE TO DREAM

Open any paper in the world and you are bound to read the latest headlines on the United States. In fact, world news seems to be constantly monitoring what is happening with the America’s domestic and foreign policies. As the super power of the world that is trying to recover from economic turmoil, pulling out from Iraq, changes within the White House administration, each step taken has a ripple affect across the world.

The business sector is continually looking at the dollar in fluctuation to see where America is standing in regard to its economy. In addition, the business experts look at the unemployment rate and how the U.S. federal government will act with interest rates combined with the either the increase or decrease in real estate prices. Lately, it seems commodities like gold and silver are on the rise because of a weak dollar. However, business analysts are predicting a recovery and there is hope after a very rough couple of years.

America is more than what is happening on Wall Street. Browsing through your daily newspaper you will find most of it filled with the latest in entertainment news. Hollywood always has a good story. From the latest break-ups to blockbuster movies, America indeed knows how to strike chord within entertainment world.

Silicon Valley is synonymous with technology. The United States has been on the forefront in creating and setting the trend of what type of gadgets we hold in our hand today. Nothing is more creative than taking an idea and turning into a household brand. Our world has been influenced by this small area in the southern part of San Francisco Bay area. It continues to be the leading hub for high-technology innovation and development, accounting for a 1/3 of all of the venture capital investment in the United States.

While the world loves soccer (a.k.a. football for those outside the United States), it also is a big fan of basketball. Parks across the globe take this sport very seriously, by providing basketball courts for young aspiring athletes to dream that he or she may be the next Michael Jordan. For many who did not grow up with a penny in their pocket, but had a great shot from the foul line, basketball was the key out of the streets.

Founded by immigrants of the 18th century, the U.S. has always kept its door open for newcomers from around the globe. Throughout the years, millions and millions of immigrants – rich and poor, white and black, Christians and Sikhs alike – have entered the so-called 'golden door' and built their new homes in America.

No other country in the world dares you to dream like America. With determination and a vision, one can take a hobby and make millions. Whether you have the next science breakthrough, the acting skills of an Al Pacino, the ability to hit a ball out of the park, a widget that can change the way we clean our houses, America wants you to come and make the dream a reality.

America is the ultimate portrayal of freedom. The thing that is so great about the United States is that it willingly allows immigrants to come through its borders and take part in a society that pursues life, liberty and happiness! Name one country that is willing to hold a Diversity Visa Lottery so others can legally become part of its society? This sort of thing happens only in the United States!
